KVE (Kiski Valley Enterprises, Inc.)
Established in 1954, Kiski Valley Enterprises (KVE) has created its own rich history by being an important economic development resource for the Alle-Kiski Region. In 1985, KVE became the economic development arm of the then newly-formed StrongLand Chamber of Commerce. Recognized as a certified Pennsylvania Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), KVE has provided low cost, start-up and expansion loans for dozens of manufacturing businesses in the area. In addition to the low-cost state PIDA Loans, KVE can also sponsor other Pennsylvania Business Incentives, including MELF, PEDFA and others. Most importantly, KVE provides professional consultation to individual businesses for all aspects of business development, including guidance for writing successful business and marketing plans.
As a clearing house for property acquisition and sale, KVE, also has the ability to plan, build and market new business parks within the region. The Wilder Business Park in Hyde Park Borough is a good example of what can be done to turn “underutilized land” into a growing industrial park. The Parks Bend Farm Industrial Park, in Parks Township, once owned by KVE, is today a thriving Industrial Park, supporting nearly 700 jobs for the area, thanks to the work done by the Armstrong County Industrial Development Corporation.
KVE, with its 15 member board, works closely with other economic development organizations, including our two respective county planning departments (Armstrong and Westmoreland), the Small Business Development Center, Catalyst Connection, and the Economic Growth Connection of Westmoreland County.
