BIKE RACE – The Tour De Strongland, being held on Saturday, September 11th and Sunday, September 12th, is the oldest and largest citizen’s bike race in Southwestern Pennsylvania. It includes on and off road races; including races for kids. Registration form; Map & Directions; Cover.
RIVER SOJOURN – Scenic river adventure; paddling through the beautiful Allegheny, Kiskiminetas and Conemaugh Valleys. Share in the rich heritage of these unique waterways as you network with other members. This year's sojourn will be held on May 13 - 16, 2010 at the Enviromental Learning Center. FISHING TOURNAMENT - MEMBER PICNIC - A family event, the Fishing contest at Northmoreland park was open to the public. You did need a fishing license. It is held in conjuction with the annual members' picnic at the boat house. Thank you to all the sponsors and fisherman out there. Without you there wouldn't be a Tour de Trout Fishing contest. 2010 event will be on Saturday, June 5.
GOLF OUTING – Our annual golf scramble is always held at one of the most beautiful and scenic courses in our region and this year is no exception. Lenape Heights Golf Course will host the 2010 outing on Friday, July 16th. Major Sponsors this year are Ferguson Heating & Air Conditioning, Giant Eagle, and Merrill Lynch.
CLAM BAKE– In an informal setting, at River Forest Country Club from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, April 29th, members will meet with our elected officials from local, county, state and federal government. QUIZ BOWL/MATH LEAGUE – Academic competition among the eight high schools in the region.
HARRISBURG TRIP – Members take a trip to the state capitol to meet with legislators.
COMMISSIONERS BREAKFAST – Breakfast meeting with the Armstrong and Westmoreland County commissioners. (Chamber Members and Guests only). This year's Halloween Breakfast was held at the Willowbrook Country Club on October 29, 2010.
BUSINESS CLINICS – New venture for us. We plan to do three-to-four per year. These Business to Business Networking Breakfasts will be held on April 20th, May 18th, June 15th at the Allegheny Township Building, each beginning at 7:45 a.m.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
ANNUAL MEETING/DINNER – Held in the fall, the event brings together all members to network, socialize, elect officers and board members of the chamber. The 2009 meeting was held on Friday, November 20th at Laube Hall in Freeport and is scheduled to coincide with the 25th Anniversary Party for the Chamber.
BUSINESS BASHES – Open houses for a new business or current business that have remodeled or moved. All chamber members are invited and activites include tours, door prizes and refreshments.
