STRONGLAND CHAMBER FOUNDATION
In 1994, the StrongLand Chamber of Commerce set up its own foundation, called the StrongLand Chamber Foundation. Its purpose is to provide charitable, non-profit funding to regional service projects, educational programs and community sporting and recreational events. The Foundation is proud of what it has been able to accomplish as a partner with other community and civic groups, in addition to what it has been able to accomplish on its own. The StrongLand Chamber Foundation provides education based programs for local school districts like the interscholastic Math League and QuizBowl. Additionally, each year the Foundation gives $3,000 in local scholarships to students who have been able to demonstrate their ability to improve grade level performance in school. A Motivational Student Reward Program has been effect for over 10 years that provides free gifts, programs and services to students in the 7th through 12th grades who actively seek to improve their grades in school.
Community sponsored programs like the Kiski Area Education Foundation, the Apollo Bridge Dedication to Police Officer Leonard C. Miller who lost his life in the line of duty, and the Allegheny Township Veterans’ Memorial, are good examples of how the StrongLand Chamber Foundation can help make our communities better places to live.
Chamber programs like the Tour de StrongLand Bike Race, the Tour de Trout Fishing Tournament, and the Alle-Kiski-Connie River Sojourn are further examples of how the StrongLand Chamber Foundation is used, repeatedly, to improve the quality of life in the region. More information about these or any other Foundation programs can be found on the Events Page of this web site. Businesses, individuals and other foundations wishing to make tax deductible contributions to benefit the region can do so by contacting the StrongLand Chamber Foundation at 724-845-5426.
